Everyone, regardless of background, race, gender or any other preference is able to come to worship at Christ Church Staincliffe, safe in the knowledge that they are loved as one of God's children, and that they can truly encounter Jesus in the Mass. This welcome is an important part of our mission at Staincliffe, since we believe that no-one who comes looking for God should be turned away, least of all by other Christians.
Because of this, Christ Church Staincliffe tries to be as inclusive as possible, so that when a person comes into church, for whatever reason, seeking to encounter God, they do not feel as if they are being judged by others. Everyone of us has problems and issues - no one is free of them - but ultimately many of these are between a person and God. Moreover, as Jesus reminded us, none of us has the right to judge others, least of all condemn, since none of us is without sin. There is only one judge, God, who, like the father of the prodigal son, welcomes all of his children who turn to him in faith, penitence, and love.
Therefore, we see our mission at Christ Church Staincliffe to
Proclaim to all the Good News of Salvation through Jesus Christ: Show God’s love to all of those who live in our parishes and beyond: Know and honour God through prayer, study, and celebration of the sacraments.
Go, therefore make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19
